We are authors!!

During the month of December we wrote stories.  Before we started writing, Mrs. Rowan read us many books.  After we read each story we talked about the CLAPS formula.  Here is the formula:

We found that Frog and Toad books were the best to discuss this story formula!  Our favorite Frog and Toad story was Cookies.  

After we understood how to write a story, we got to write our own!  First, we got our ideas down on an organizer.  Next, we imagined the stories in our heads, with many details.   Then, we wrote our stories down on paper.  We revised and edited our own stories.  We first asked ourselves, "Does it make sense?"  We then reread them, looking for capitalization and punctuation errors.  Finally, we made a title page and a picture to go along with our stories.  We then stapled them all together in a lovely book!  Here are two of our stories...
