Screens and Rocks

Here are some pictures of our class using screens to sort river rocks.  We used different sized screens to sort sand, gravel and rocks.  Through observing and investigating, we learned that:

• sand goes through the screens with the smallest holes
• gravel goes through the screens with medium-sized holes
• rocks and pebbles stay on top of the screens
